Steel and Iron Complex

Our company is keen on advancing the national industry, especially the steel and iron sector, and expanding production in this important industry, which plays a significant role in supporting and developing the national economy and diversifying production. With our excellent service, logistical, technical, and financial capabilities, as well as supporting companies, we aim to enhance the financial and technical aspects of the Military Industrialization Authority, serving our beloved country by providing products related to the iron and steel industry. These products serve as raw materials for some industrial plants in Iraq, reducing imports, conserving hard currency, and providing employment opportunities. After obtaining your esteemed approval, our company will provide a comprehensive economic feasibility program, technical and professional courses, courses in management, contract law, electronic calculators, and electronic programs at our expense.

Our company renews its urgent desire to establish the Steel and Iron Complex, which includes the production of rebar in all its types, medium-section iron production in all its types, billets, and iron rolls, as well as the establishment of a sponge iron plant with a production capacity of up to five million tons annually for sponge iron (reduced iron). Sponge iron is a term used for iron reduced through direct reduction, called sponge due to the sponge-like internal composition resulting from partial oxygen extraction from iron oxides. The sponge iron content reaches about 98%, and it is considered an intermediary product in the iron and steel industry, entering electric arc furnaces as raw material, being smelted, and having some alloying elements like titanium, vanadium, and manganese added to impart the required mechanical properties to the steel. Our goal is to achieve a production capacity of up to five million tons annually (5,000,000 million tons), which will contribute to reducing the use of scrap in the iron and steel industry by more than 80%. It will also contribute to meeting the cement factories’ needs for this material, and it will be used in extraction operations to name oil wells.

The facilities of the complex include:

The Rolling Mill for Rebars and Rods (Reinforcement Iron)

The factory consists of a reheating furnace and 16 rolling stands, along with four rolling lines for producing bars and rods ranging in size from 10 mm to 32 mm at this stage, with an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons.

The steel plant

Regarding the steel plant, we aim to achieve a production capacity of up to six million tons annually. This includes an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) with a capacity of 125 tons per melt, by installing five furnaces. The charge mixture will consist of direct reduced iron and scrap (scrap), with a Ladle Furnace (LF) for refining the molten steel and conducting the necessary tests to control its specifications.

The billet production line includes various types, whether in the form of plates or coils

Which are used in various industries, including pipe manufacturing in various forms such as longitudinally welded or spiral pipes, as well as in shipbuilding, barges, and various other industries, with a production capacity of up to six hundred thousand tons annually.

The factory for rolling angles, light sections, and industrial iron.

The production capacity of this factory is 160,000 tons annually, which can be increased with the growing demand for its products. The factory comprises integrated units including a reheating furnace, rolling stands, rolling lines, and a cooling bed similar to the configuration of the steel bar rolling mill. It also produces industrial sections from iron, which are used in the manufacturing of doors, windows, metal furniture, structures, and roofing.

Oxygen Plant

It produces more than 20,000 cubic meters of oxygen per hour, 1,000 cubic meters of nitrogen gas per hour, and 100 cubic meters of argon gas.

A production line for various medium sections such as Shaliman, Saqiya, and angles

In various sizes to meet the significant increase in demand for these products witnessed by the local market.

Dust and Gas Purification Unit

One of the key points is the company’s commitment to environmental conditions and meeting the global production requirements in the iron and steel industry. This involves equipping and installing an integrated unit for dust and gas purification resulting from manufacturing operations in the steel plant, casting lines, and rolling mill to purify, recycle, and separate dust components, all in line with our company’s motto of modern, environmentally friendly industry.

Establishment of a power generation station

With a production capacity of up to 500 megawatts to meet the industrial complex’s electricity needs and reduce reliance on the national grid to ensure uninterrupted production under various conditions due to the fluctuations in national grid power production. Additionally, the plant will be equipped with an advanced secondary power station and SVC station, along with power transmission lines from the power station to the plant. The secondary power station and SVC station will distribute electricity to the entire complex through substation distribution stations located in various areas inside and outside the iron and steel complex. The station will work to stabilize and balance the electrical grid at all production stages.

The control room for production operations

The company’s facilities and factories must be fully automated, with production operations being controlled through control rooms that oversee all stages of production and integrate them for coordination, guidance, and quality control.

Water supply and treatment stations

This unit aims to supply the factory with sufficient quantities of water needed for all production lines, as well as treating the resulting water used in manufacturing processes and recycling it at a rate exceeding 90% for reuse in manufacturing operations. This saves a lot of the required water resources in multiple production processes.

Yards, warehouses, and transportation lines

Allocation of yards and multiple buildings for storing and restocking raw materials used in the production processes, including scrapyards for scrap metal, warehouses for direct reduced iron and classified scrap, storage facilities for pure metals added during smelting processes, and other yards for storing semi-finished products and distributing them among the company’s factories. Additionally, there are storage areas for the final products, culminating in truck loading areas for transporting the products off-site.

The laboratories

Quality control operations are conducted at all stages of production through two laboratories equipped with the latest devices to ensure product quality and compliance with internationally approved specifications. The first laboratory examines the molten metal, while the second specializes in inspecting the final product at various stages.

The fire and industrial safety station

Providing modern firefighting vehicles of all types and implementing a comprehensive fire extinguishing system for the entire industrial complex, along with an integrated security system monitored by the latest types of cameras.

The medical unit

Establishment of a four-story medical unit dedicated to providing medical treatment to employees for all health conditions and emergencies, equipped with ambulance vehicles. The medical unit will be furnished with all necessary medical equipment and medications.

The metal barrel production laboratory, which is a new line in the factory

The iron barrel factory responds to the growing demand in various sectors, especially in the Arab Gulf countries and Iraq, which possesses the world’s largest oil reserves. Iron barrels are used for packaging and storing petroleum, petrochemicals, and other substances, as well as for food packaging, water companies, sewage, and desalination plants.

The project aims to produce iron barrels to meet the needs of the Arab market for these products, targeting sectors such as petroleum, petrochemicals, lubricants, oils, and food companies. Providing job opportunities is also a goal of the iron barrel production factory.

The project aims to produce iron barrels with capacities ranging from 100 to 210 liters and an internal thickness of 5 mm, ensuring high quality and rust resistance.

Our mission is to meet the region’s needs and provide the highest quality standards through our trained team. Our vision is to be the most advanced and largest factory and supplier of barrels in various sizes. We strive for excellence in all our products, utilizing technology skillfully, and ensuring top-level performance and quality. Our goal is always to go the extra mile to satisfy our customers. We have built our business on a solid foundation of credibility, where all our transactions with customers and partners are based on trust.

The residential complex

Establishing a model residential complex dedicated to employees of the company, the complex will feature both horizontal and vertical buildings, along with a large mall. It will include primary and secondary schools, a nursery, and kindergarten, all built according to urban housing standards, with 40% of the space allocated for services and 60% for residential purposes. The complex will be equipped with a security system, gardens, playrooms, and sports fields. Villas will range from 300 to 500 square meters, while residential apartments will have a size of 285 square meters.
